Wet Fish
When packaging fresh fish into Flake Ice or using Gel Packs, the harsh environment can be challenging. We supply various standard and bespoke sized cartons manufactured with hard sized water resistant middles and Food Grade PE on both sides. This ensures the cartons retain their strength and integrity throughout the supply chain, so your products arrive at their destination in perfect condition.
Pelagic – Blast Freeze
In the seasonal Pelagic industry, the ability to produce high volumes of cartons over a short period of time, while also ensuring consistency in terms of dimensions and raw materials, is essential for the smooth, efficient running of automated packing lines.
Solidboard is used extensively in the Pelagic Industry where Blast Freezing is the main processing method. Compared to corrugated cartons, packing and freezing in solidboard reduces freezing times and improving the quality of fish, while also significantly reducing energy costs.
Having worked closely with the major Norwegian machinery manufacturers for over 25 years, our cartons are being used, not only in the UK and Ireland, but in many pelagic processors around the world.
Pelagic-Plate Freeze
Some factories have started to introduce plate freezing pelagic species in vacuum bags. This removes the need to use solidboard as the product is frozen prior to being packaged. We work closely with the machinery manufacturers to ensure we manufacture cartons that management speeds through the packing lines.
Shellfish
Catching, packing, and freezing at sea presents a number of challenges, not to mention the limited space available on a prawn boat. We have worked alongside many skippers catching langoustines and other shellfish, providing cartons to various ports depending on their port of discharge. We supply both 3kg inner cartons and outer cartons to hold 3 inners.
By-Products
With salmon prices continuing to rise, many food processors are using salmon heads and frames as a more cost-effective solution, for use in both human consumption and pet food. We typically supply these businesses with 10kg and 20kg pelagic cartons to minimize blast freeze times and retain the quality of the product.
7.5kg Blocks : CRT LinerPro
Our 7.5kg block liners were first introduced to the UK market in 2019. Since then, we have supplied to a wide variety of businesses in Africa, the USA, and beyond. Manufactured from Food Grade Direct Contact paper in a BRC, FSSC, and FDA accredited factory, LinerPro is suitable for use with both fillets and fish mince. The paper liner is specially manufactured to allow maximum porosity in order to minimize air pockets and voids in the finished blocks.
Fish Processing Ancillary Equipment
In addition to paper packaging, we also supply 7.5kg Freezing Frames. Both C and E frame profiles can be supplied with fixed or removable base plates and block ejectors. We can also make freezing racks to order to help maximize the internal space of your blast freezers.
